The Divemaster course is your first level of professional certification. Working closely with me, you’ll fine-tune your dive skills and refine your rescue skills so you can anticipate and easily solve diving problems. You’ll gain dive knowledge and management and supervision abilities that will make you a role model to divers everywhere.
The Divemaster rating is actually an instructor apprenticeship. You will assist with most aspects of training and develop experience working with students.
If you are getting your PADI Divemaster Certification, you must have all of the following PADI certifications: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver. If you are getting your SDI Divemaster Certification, you must be a SDI Rescue Diver.
In addition, you must be at least 18 years old. You must have at lesat 40 logged dives. You must have completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within the last 24 months. You must have been evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within the last 12 months.

The duration of this course will depend on availability of students and other factors, but you can expect it to take several weeks. There are several dive workshops you’ll need to complete. Estimates are just that—estimates.
